Would you like to foster cats or kittens?

Updated: May 20, 2023

We are receiving calls for an overwhelming number of cats, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs all needing rescue space.

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer fosterer? By providing a warm and welcoming home to a foster animal, you will be helping them become ready to move on to their purrfect forever home.

Fosterers provide a huge support to the rescue. As an animal fosterer, you will be supporting us - by sharing your home with the animal we place with you, we can continue to take in other animals in need.

You will be responsible for meeting the welfare needs of your foster; feeding and grooming, attending any required veterinary appointments etc. This role is crucial - it ensures your foster is ready for the next stage in its journey.

You will need:

  • A spare room (if you have other pets) or area in your home where the foster can live. (Your pets will need to be neutered and fully vaccinated.)

  • Ability to make and attend veterinary appointments.

  • Compassion and commitment.

  • Ability to feed, water, and groom your foster (in line with our advice).

  • Provide your foster time and patience.

  • Provide enrichment and lots of cuddles.

In return we will provide:

  • Food and supplies.

  • Veterinary care and treatment.

  • Support from a team of staff and volunteers.

Through volunteering you will gain a sense of achievement and will be able to add your new skills to your CV. You will become part of a small team who, through volunteering, provide compassion and care to animals when they need it the most.
