RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Charity Shop Terms and Conditions

GIFT AID TERMS & CONDITIONS

On completing the RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Gift Aid Declaration Form (‘the Form’) and presenting it to a RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks shop, you confirm that:

  • You own the goods that you are bringing for sale, you obtained them in a legal manner and you are not acting as a business.

  • You wish RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks to act as your agent in selling the goods you have brought into the shop. RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks may attempt to sell the goods on your behalf in whatever manner it decides in order to maximise the value of the sale. Any goods which cannot be sold will be recycled or disposed of and cannot be returned.

  • You are a UK taxpayer and would like RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks to treat all donations you make or have made in the past 4 years and from this date forward for all future donations as Gift Aid donations.

  • You understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations to charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

  • You will notify RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks if you no longer pay sufficient Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax and if you change your name or address.

  • Any liability to capital gains tax remains your responsibility. If you sell significant quantities of goods in this way you must also consider your own position in terms of income tax on trading activities.

  • RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time.

  • RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks may vary its gift aid terms and conditions from time to time. Copies of the most recent terms will always be available on request by emailing branch@mkrspca.org.uk

PURCHASED GOODS SHOPS TERMS & CONDITIONS

Do we always offer a receipt?

It is our policy to issue a paper or email receipt for the goods you purchase. If you do not receive one, please ask. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase.

Change of Mind policy

Under our Change of Mind policy we're happy to exchange or provide a credit voucher for most items within 14 days of the purchase date. Any credit voucher or exchange is offered entirely at our own discretion and all items must be returned with your original receipt (or other proof of purchase) in the same condition as when you purchased them, with the Shop price ticket attached (if applicable).

You are entitled to return any item you have purchased in our shop up to and including 14 days after the day of purchase unless your item:

  • is made to your specification or clearly personalised;

  • is likely to deteriorate or expire rapidly (such as items of food or flowers);

  • becomes inseparably mixed with other goods after they are delivered to you;

  • is sealed for health protection and/or hygiene reasons and the seal is broken after the item was purchased.

We can’t give refunds or exchanges on CDs, DVDs, videos, computer games, books, earrings & clothes unless they are faulty. We will provide a credit voucher to you for the purchase price which has a redemption period of 28 days after the date of issue.

Please note that we may make a deduction if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of your handling them in a way which would not be permitted in a shop. Please note that we cannot offer a refund for any item where a suggested donation was made at the time the item was purchased as this is an optional payment and not a payment for the item. RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks is only permitted to return donations in limited circumstances if we can establish the making of the donation was a genuine mistake or there are other legal grounds for returning the donation. The same applies to additional donations added to the order at checkout.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in all disputes arising out of these terms and any item(s) purchased from our stores.

If a court finds any part of these terms unlawful or unenforceable for any reason, this shall not affect the rest of the terms which will remain valid and enforceable.

This contract is between you and us. Nobody else has any rights under or in respect of these terms.

Even if we delay in enforcing any of these terms, we can still enforce them at a later time. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of any breach, it will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.

These terms and conditions do not in any way affect your statutory rights.
