Watch the animal for a short while to see how badly it is hurt.
Be mindful that wild animals can scratch and bite, especially when frightened and injured. If in any doubt then keep a safe distance away and call 0300 1234 9999 or contact a local wildlife rehabilitator.
Be aware of your location, if you or the animal are near a busy road then call for help.
Never move a wild animal unless you are certain you can do so without risk to yourself, others or the animal.
Wear gloves and keep the animal away from your face.
Wash your hands after handling the animal.
