Animal Killer strikes in Milton Keynes.

September 11, 2017

Animal Killer strikes in Milton Keynes. Please be vigilant.

RSPCA Milton Keynes and North Bucks are assisting South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty – SNARL – with two recent killings of a cat and a swan in Milton Keynes.

The offender is believed to have killed 300 animals as far up the country as Birmingham but at this point we cannot rule out copycat attacks. It is best for now to keep your cat(s) indoors as much as you can and let them out only during the day when they can be supervised. Please keep your cat(s) in at night. We appreciate this isn't easy, but it will cut the risk to your cat dramatically.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
If you see anyone or people behaving strangely around animals, please call police on 101 with a full description of the person and what they are doing, and quote Operation Takahe (pronounced Takkahay) in the call. Where possible get vehicle registration details. Please then text the police reference number to 07957 830490 or 07961 030064.

If you see anyone or people catching or causing harm to an animal, call 999 immediately. The offender/s is likely to have a knife/s.

If you find a body which is mutilated or missing parts, please call 07961 030064 or 07957 830490 immediately. Please stay with the body if you can and prevent any council/ waste services from touching or removing it and anyone from photographing it.

There is a £10,000 reward for information leading to the successful conviction of the UK Animal Killer. If you have any information about who might be committing these offences, please call the Operation Takahe team on 020 8649 0216, or SNARL who are leading the investigation. Any information received will be treated in the strictest confidence.
