Pet safety on Firework night.
Some people love them, but animals hate them! Follow our simple tips on making fireworks night less frightening for your pet.
Cats and Dogs
Mare sure they have somewhere to hide if they want to.
Walk your dog during the daylight hours and keep cats and dogs indoors when fireworks are likely.
Close the windows and curtains and put on music or keep your TV on to hide the sounds of fireworks.
Make sure your pet cannot escape. Frightened animals can bolt if there is a sudden noise. Ensure you have microchipped them just in case and that the details are up to date!
If your dog is particularly nervous then seek help from your local Vet before fireworks night.
If your pet lives outside then cover the cage with a blanket or tarpaulin but remember to leave a large enough opening to let plenty of air circulate.
Provide lots of bedding so that they can dig into it and hide if they want to.
